The Nurburgring has been around since the mid 1920's and is located in Nurburg, Germany. The track is built on an asphalt surface and has a circuit length of 3.63 km which are covered over 43 laps. The track features 16 turns. The most recent race in the DTM calendar took place in the Netherlands at the Zandvoort. Sweden's Mattias Ekstrom of DTM Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline won the race by just .270 of a second over Germany's Timo Scheider who was also in an Audi A4 DTM. Third place in the race went to Tom Kristensen of Denmark.

The 2^nd place finish at Zandvoort helps Timo Scheider maintain his grip on first place with 40 points for the season. Mattias Ekstrom has now edged closer into second place with 35 points while Green is just 1 point back in 3^rd place. In the DTM teams' standings, Abt Audi are in first place with 60 points, followed by Abt Sportsline at 57 while AMG Mercedes are 3^rd with 55 so just 5 points separate the top 3 teams in the competition.
