The 2007 MotoGP Grand Prix Germany was won by Dani Pedrosa of Spain. Pedrosa was able to place first in the race despite the pole going to Casey Stoner. Loris Capirossi of Italy finished 2^nd while the USA's Nicky Hayden came in 3^rd. Pedrosa had also set the fastest lap at Sachsenring. The last race held 2 weeks ago was the Dutch TT and that was won by the aforementioned Casey Stoner who had also won the pole position for said race in addition to setting the fastest lap. Dani Pedrosa came in 2^nd while Colin Edwards finished 3^rd.

The victory at the Dutch TT was the second straight for the Australian Stoner and he has now won 3 races on the year tying him with Valentino Rossi for the most. Stoner has now finished in the top 3 over the last 4 races. With those back to back victories Stoner is now in 3rd place of the MotoGP drivers' standings with 142. He sits 25 points behind 2^nd place Valentino Rossi of Yamaha while Honda's Pedrosa is still on top, just barely, by 4 points with 171.
