The WilliamsF1 team, which is based in the United Kingdom, are coming off of a 4th place finish last season in the constructors' championship. In all they have won an impressive 9 constructors' championships since their first race back in 1978 and have had 7 drivers win the drivers' championship.
WilliamsF1 were formed when two prior formula one racing teams, Williams Racing Cars and Walter Wolf Racing, were merged. Their first participation in the circuit was at the Argentine Grand Prix of 1978. Since then they have had a prolific string of success. This includes winning all of their 9 constructor titles over a 17 year stretch which made them the premier side in the series over that time. Much like Ferrari, their list of former drivers also reads like a who's who of the greats of the last generation of racing with the likes of Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Alain Prost, Nelson Piquet, Jacques Villenueve and the legend Ayrton Senna. The last 10 years have been thing however; as Williams have been forced to watch as their hated rivals of Ferrari have racked up win after win.

The 2007 season saw a change in philosophy at WilliamsF1 with Toyota now the engine supplier. In addition, the team also switched sponsors with AT&T coming aboard. Nico Rosberg and Alexander Wurz were the team’s top two drivers with Kazuki Nakajima coming on as the second driver once Alexander Wurz retired late in the year. The 22 year old Nakajima, who is the son of former driver Satoru, did well enough in limited duty that he was signed on to be the number two in 2008. At www.watchlivef1.com, you'll be able to watch Nakajima and other up and coming formula drivers live online. In the end, the WilliamsF1 team would finish with 33 points which were good enough for 4th place as they head into a rebuilding year in 2008.
The team is expected to go with the FW30 chassis this season and it has been confirmed that Lenovo will be the builder of the new supercomputer. Bridgestone will of course supply the tires, while the engine used will be the Toyota RVX-08. The aforementioned Nakajima and Nico Rosberg will be the two drivers with another German, Nico Huikenberg serving a the test driver. The prospects are not exactly the best but technical director Sam Michael is confident of being able to challenge for a position in the top 3.
Can WilliamsF1 pull of the surprise and challenge for the title? You'll be able to find out very soon after you sign up at www.watchlivef1.com to watch live WilliamsF1 racing live online this season.
